Valve body restoration

Body erosion at the flow path, seat-and-stem wear and gasket-face corrosion retire valves before the trim or actuator fails.

The problem

What is failing

Erosion at the flow path, seat-and-stem wear, and corrosion at the gasket face retire a valve while its trim and actuator are still good. A worn body will not hold a seal and becomes a leak and emissions risk. Cutting a welded valve out of the line for replacement is a hot-work job and a long line break.

Our method

How CM Solutions US does it

CM Solutions US rebuilds eroded body cavities and bonnet faces cold with machinable composites such as Belzona 1111, then overcoats the flow path with an erosion-resistant layer like Belzona 1321. The crew prepares the wasted internals, rebuilds them to profile, and reforms the gasket faces in place. The valve is restored without cutting it out for welding.

Typically applied with Belzona 1111, Belzona 1321, matched to the service conditions.

The result

The valve body holds a seal again and goes back into the line. The facility keeps the existing valve and its trim instead of buying and welding in a replacement.
